I hold a pebble in the palm of my hand.
It is old and full of secrets.
It’s been through ten thousand storms.
It’s seen countless summer days.
It’s been skipped across the surface of the water.
Rocked gently on the ocean floor.
The waves have carried it back to land on the beach at my feet.
I’ll make something special.

Pause of the Day

Cherish

One of the my main goals as an artist is to create images that caption some kind of emotion. Sometimes when I get it just right, I can draw up some very powerful feelings. As a result of this, I often have people share their stories with me.  These stories are so lovely to receive, and provide me with incredible inspiration and validation for what I do.

Today…. I am going to share with you.

I got up this morning and out of the blue started working on a new note card design. The resulting rough draft image is the one here of the parent and child. I’ve been playing around with it the last hour or so and printed off a copy to look at.  It was at that moment that I remembered the day was February 28th, my mother’s birthday.  It’s been almost a couple of years since she passed away and I miss her very much, needless to say my own image had stirred up one of those powerful emotions in myself.

It inspired me to share with you as so many of you have shared with me. In honor of mom’s and dad’s who are with us in person or in our hearts, I post this image today.

Cherish.
